To my surprise, I cannot edit a draft messages that are stored on a server - there are read only and there are no buttons to change it, clicking on arbitrary parts of a message does not help.

I can edit drafts stored in 'local drafts'

Also, can't we just store drafts on a server? It is confusing and makes editing a message on a laptop, that I have started on the phone, impossible.

It's more complex than one might expect at first blush.  Probably the biggest thing we need to deal with first is letting the user edit HTML mails (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799822#c5 for some details).  The platform has advanced a lot in this regard since various discussion on that, which is good, but this is still very iffy for v2.5.
