I think this bug was reported before, for version 0.9.5?, and then it was fixed in 0.9.6 (which I was using until today) but now that I upgraded to 0.9.7, it is broken again. Mozilla is impossible to use on a website served by tomcat. It can't find the pages, or gets the addresses wrong, or a combination of things. At this site, I either get an alert box that says "the file / cannot be found. Please check the location and try again", and then a blank screen, or a partially loaded site, but with all the pictures, missing.
dup of bug 100514?
It turns out, Mozilla was having problems apparantly because I installed version 0.9.7 overtop of 0.9.6 without uninstalling 0.9.6 first. After uninstalling 0.9.6 completely, and then doing a new clean install of 0.9.7, it worked fine. So, If a bug exists, its with the install process, not the browser.

I take back some of my last comment... I have no idea what is wrong with it. It no longer has problems with just tomcat, but, all over the web. It dosen't display pictures on www.mozilla.org nor on google.com, and it pop up alert boxes on some sites like www.terminologyservice.org about not being able to find files, which do exist. On a very strange side note, if I open up a copy of Netscape 6.2, and then open mozilla, 50% of the time mozilla works perfectly. Close netscape, and it quits working properly. Some bad profile interaction, I imagine? If this problem was a widespread bug, I would think that it would be affecting everyone, as it makes the browser useless... since I'm the only one that seems to have it, I imagine its platform/hardware specific to something I have.... I don't know what... I'm running NT4 service pack 6. For now, I'll just try to reinstall 0.9.6 and hope the problems go away...
Ok, my last post on this - (I promise) All of these problems appear to have been caused by an evidently corrupted profile. How the profile got corrupted - that is a mystery. Somehow, installing 0.9.7 over the top of 0.9.6 caused mozilla to stop working. (yes, horrible description, but thats what happened. It acted completly randomly when it came to browsing pages - wouldn't display pictures, etc, especially had problems with files which were relatively linked in the web pages) uninstalling 7 and reinstalling 6 did not fix problem. Trying to install 7 again, this time as a clean install did not fix problem. uninstalling 7 (and 6) and removing all traces of mozilla from system (program folder, and the profiles folder) and then installing 0.9.7 made everything happy. Is this a known bug? Or do I just have bad luck, and a very wierd set of circumstances that I did to cause these results?
dan: it sounds to me as if you are running into bug 105746. it is invalid to run multiple instances of mozilla with the same profile. doing so will cause corruption to your profile and especially your cache directory. unfortunately, mozilla does not currently have any built in protection against this. see bug 76431. even though mozilla and netscape are different programs, they both share the same user profiles. this bug has nothing to do with tomcat. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 105746 ***
