I was listening to a file in "Music" (happened to be a podcast downloaded to the SIM, but I went to Music->Albums and picked the "song"). I got a notification beep, and the music resumed immediately and automatically, but at the *beginning* of the "song". Probably not a huge deal for a 3 minute pop song, but killer in a 1 hour podcast.
I tried to replicate it by sending myself an IM while listening to a regular pop song but couldn't replicate it :(
Hardware is Sony Xperia Z3, build identifier 20150709163311.

This seems strange. Could QA take a look and see if they can reproduce it? Maybe it's a Z3-only bug...

I was unable to verify this issue. While a song was playing I attempted to repro by using the following scenarios:
Receive an MMS with text
Receive an MMS with no text
Receive an SMS
Receive a calendar event notification
Leaving Qawanted tag for others to attempt.

Since neither the reporter nor QA can repro this, I'm going to close it for now. If you still see the issue, feel free to reopen it and we can look again.
