From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221
BuildID: 2002010703

None of the buttons on this page worked when I was using that version of the
browser.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to http://www.mozilla.org/quality/help/bugzilla-helper.html
2. fill in text
3. click on button

Actual Results: Nothing happened.

Expected Results: A list of error messages.
Reporter:
Which buttons do you mean ?
The Form Submit buttons on the page ?

If yes:
Have you enabled Javascript ?
Do you blocking some JS events with the scripting pref ?

Which exact error message do you see ?
None of the buttons were working. I eventually switched to browser version
0.9.6 which worked without flaw. I didn't explictly check to see that
javascript was working, but I didn't turn it off. (Is the config file per user
or per browser. If it's per user, as I expect, then the settings were the same.)

Buttons included Search (for bugs by descriptor), See bugs in the component, and
open the bugzilla entry form (the one that has the comit button on it). The
menu selections worked (e.g., I could select which component).
Reporter:
Have you installed mozilla in an empty directory (not over an older build) ?
If yes: Can you try a new profile ? (run "mozilla -profilemanager" to create a
second test profile)

Yes, mozilla was installed in a new folder. In particular it was installed by doing an extract of the zipped file, and then copying the extracted folder over to .../Mozilla/ as 2002-01-07.When I created a new user profile (there had only been one) then the buttons started working. For both the old and the new profile. (OTOH, I didn't test it today before creating the new profile.)
Charles - Since it appears that this is now working for you, I'm closing the bug
as Worksforme.

Reopen if that's not the case.
