Trying to use new calendar in thunderbird linked to my Google calender account. Setup and Sync appears ok but no daily info is loaded. I currently use my PC and android phone on google cal but would like to use TB

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/44.0.2403.107 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: updated thunderbird and included lightning. As per help added google calendar ICAL link https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/somo778%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics Actual results: Press SYNC - no error is displayed but no daily info is loaded form my original Google calendar to this new lightning canendar. Expected results: each day info populated from original google cal to this new TB calendar.
Which version of Lightning are you on? How do you intend to access your Google calendar - using CalDav or the Google provider addon? Do you see any related messages in the error console (ctrl+shift+j)?

As per above - it is the version that auto installs when updating thunderbird - 4.0.1.2 I don't know what CalDav is. As per install help and above I used ICAL - seeabove. The error console has lots of enteries but the latest 10 or so look like this- Timestamp: 28/07/2015 9:41:21 AM Error: TypeError: tab is undefined Source File: chrome://messenger/content/tabmail.xml Line: 1067 I note a lot of the online help is not relevant to this new version... cheers john
The error messages are not related. Have you checked the ics link is accessible with a browser? If not, eventually something is wrong with the access priviledges you need to modify at your Google account. Anyway, you should consider to use the provider for google addon (get it within the addons manager) or configure a caldav calendar instead of an ics calendar, as the latter is readonly, iirc.
Can you please enable calendar.debug.log and calendar.debug.log.verbose in the config editor and subsequently provide all the messages appearing in the console when you try to sync (not just errors - you may want to mask sensitive information, but please don't change information structure when doing so).
