We use this plugin only on Mac OS. We use it during event entry process, plugin receives event details from Web page and pass them to MAC native client via IPC notification.

Yes, plugin version changed together with AT&T Connect client version on Mac.
MimeType also may be changed, for example next version of plugin will be application/attconnect-ee-plugin-version=1.1.0

Are there any known security issues in current or older versions of the plugin?
No

Regarding transition plan away from NPAPI plugins we planning to publish our application in Mac store and use URI mechanism for our event entry.
