There's a nice standalone test case that originally was written for bug 371885 here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=256676 It can be re-used as a DOM performance test, for example by hard-coding it to render 4000 DIVs, call divfig.update() 10 times and measure how long all of that work took. (Obviously the 1 second timeout should go..)
