Hello, At my work, I have Firefox. There is a bug. I reproduce the bug. 1/ I create a new Firefox tab. 2/ In the Google search field, I start entering some keywords. 3/ I click on the button three lines (does he have a name?). 4/ I choose Personalise Firefox. 5/ I personalise Firefox... I put back the bar of menus. 6/ I leave the personalisation. Expected result: I am where I was before personalising Firefox. My tab is there. My search keywords are there. I can continue entering them and launch my search. Observed result: I am not where I was before personalising Firefox. The tab I had has silently disappeared. My search keywords have silently disappeared. I have to create again a new tab and to enter my search keywords again ...if I remember that I was doing that. This is loss of user data. The loss here may seem little. But it is critical for people like me who use their tabs as "items of to-do list". It would be nice to correct this bug. :-) Thank you. Nicolas B.

Actually the bug is still there, although conditions are different than originally described. The fact that we clear the search bar didn't really have anything to do with us closing the new tab.

I was quite sure that "Google search field" was referring to the search field on the new tab page, it's also said in comment 0 that reporter uses many tabs in this manner, with specific text typed in (most likely) search field on each new tab page. It's impossible to do with search bar. But keeping this bug for search bar case is a good thing. Though I remember bug 644174 (duplicate)
