If you visit the URL given, notice that the painting of the background is ludicrously slow compared to 4.x generation browsers and IE 5.0. My system is: Red Hat 6.0 w/ kernel 2.2.11 on an ordinary Pentium 200 MMX.

New information: The background painting slowness appears to happen only in the Xlib port; the GTK port paints it immediately. Perhaps we should re-assign this to blizzard for him to take a look at it?
