This bug is to track the link to the iOS App Store. It could be in other engineering bugs somewhere, but this is a placeholder for that link.

Will we be able to use a single link for all languages? Do we know what that link will be?

Here's the universal link to the app. If the app isnt available in a certain country though it wont work.

Hey Mike and Gareth-
Do we need tracking parameters in this link?
Thx,
Jen

So it seems the tracking params we're adding to our Google Play store links are really just a Google thing, and I have no idea if Apple offers anything similar on their end. We'll want to count clicks on the links on our end but that's separate from any parameters on the URL.

Apple allows for campaign tracking links, but from browser to mobile, it only tracks using Safari (so no snippets or tiles testing)
This is part of a new Analytics product from Apple, and I havent used it myself. However we should be able to set up campaign specific links to attribute sources of download.
+adavis - fyi for a/b testing and optimizations.
If we can get all the touchpoints we think we will need download links, we can look to make unique campaign tracking links. For example:
-Facebook (can differentiate by campaigns)
-Misc paid media
-Product Page
I copied and pasted some FAQ on it:
What are campaigns?
Campaigns are custom App Store links you can use in your marketing material, websites, or advertising. Campaign links allow you to see your app sales, usage, and monetization for specific campaigns.
How can I generate a campaign link?
To generate a campaign link:
Go to your app’s page in App Analytics
Go to Sources
Go to Top Campaigns
Click Generate a Campaign Link
Enter a campaign ID, which can be up to 40 alphanumeric characters
Use the link on your website, in your email, in your advertisements, or in any other
marketing campaign
Can I use an iTunes Affiliate link as a campaign link for App Analytics?
Yes. To use an iTunes Affiliate link as a campaign link, add your provider token to an iTunes Affiliate link. We recommend you create a new iTunes Affiliate link for this purpose.
To get your provider token, generate a campaign link as above, and copy the string that begins “pt=” in the campaign link. For instance, if the generated campaign link is https:// itunes.apple.com/us/app/apple-store/id439104108?pt=8668&ct=test123&mt=8 then your provider token is “8668” and you would add “&pt=8668” to the end of your iTunes Affiliate links.
Can I use App Analytics to track campaigns I create using other tools?
It depends on whether your tool allows you to modify the destination App Store URL appropriately. You’ll need to include a campaign token and your provider token in your campaign URL. For instance, in the campaign link https://itunes.apple.com/us/ app/apple-store/id439104108?pt=8668&ct=test123&mt8 the provider token begins with “pt=” and the campaign token begins with the "ct=" string.
If your tool allows you to modify the destination App Store URL so that those two tokens are included, then that campaign will appear in App Analytics.
To get your provider token, create a campaign link in App Analytics. You can choose your own campaign token, which can be up to 40 alphanumeric characters.
What is the campaign filter?
Campaign shows only data for apps that were downloaded after the customer tapped on a campaign link. Campaigns are custom App Store links that let you see user discovery and usage of your app over time. Campaign data is updated daily based on the previous days’ interactions with that campaign.
Your campaign will not be listed until users have begun to use that campaign.
What is the referring website filter?
Referring website displays only data for apps that were downloaded after the customer tapped a link to your App Store product page on a website. Only taps by users with Safari and devices with iOS 8 or later are counted.

Hi Rebecca,
Can you double check the link? the previous link links to a sega app for some reason and doesnt have the "s" in https.
This new link with "https" may be the correct one, but the link doesnt work right now since the app is not live on the appstore.

How did you verify the link before?

The link was verified by checking the ID only. I see the link as 'itunes.apple.com/app/id989804926' and am unable to download it.
