1189594 - accounts.firefox.com doesn't support RTL for Persian

Bug 1189590 covers about:accounts not supporting RTL at all.  With that patch, after the first step, we load an iframe to <https://accounts.firefox.com/signup?service=sync&context=fx_desktop_v1&entrypoint=abouthome> and that page offers an LTR English version.  I'm not sure if it's possible to localize this page, but at least it would be nice to have RTL support it in.

Those pages acount localized as part of the "Firefox Accounts" project on verbatim:

  https://localize.mozilla.org/projects/accounts

I'll see about getting this work scheduled.  Do you have a particular timeline or deadline in mind for this?

Hmm, can you please try the same in the Persian (fa) locale?  That page appears LTR for me there.

Not really (I'm not an active localizer.)

Ehsan, it looks like Persian for FxA is only 5% translated (https://localize.mozilla.org/fa/accounts/), which is why you're getting the LTR English. Once FxA is sufficiently translated for Persian (usually 85-90%), we'll enable it and it should correctly display RTL and translated. 

Translation for FxA is done via the community through our Verbatim project. I'm not sure how many Persian translators are in our community. Matjaž Horvat might be able to help.

Adding :mathjazz who may be able to comment more.  Firefox Accounts is only set up to do localisation from verbatim, so the short is likely "yes" unless there's some automated way of linking between the two systems.

Sara,

You cannot use http://mozilla.locamotion.org/fa/ to localize Firefox Accounts, it only supports Firefox, Thunderbird and Mozilla.org. You need to use Verbatim (https://localize.mozilla.org/fa/) for most other projects.

Or, you could simply switch to Pontoon (https://pontoon.mozilla.org/), which allows for localization of all Mozilla projects in one place:

Thanks all!  It sounds like we can safely close out this bug, and we'll look to enable the Persian localisations as the percentage of translated strings increases.

(RESOLVED/INVALID sounds unnecessarily harsh, but seems the most appropriate resolution since we're not landing any code to resolve the issue)
