@reporter: a) Your problem is that the "starred" column in the thread pane shows a star and you don't know why? b) How can I reproduce the problem with your 150801.msg? Please contribute a step by step instruction. Generally in comments here you should not describe what you observe, but what we have to do to reproduce your observations c) To be honest, I haven't a clue what that "starred" status might mean, Help tells me nothing, can you help? Please answer without citing, simply start your reply with item like a): <answer>

@reporter: We can try this: 11. Save message as message.eml (after you "unstarred" it) frpm Thunderbird 12. Drag and drop the message.eml form WIN files explorer to your TB inbox 13. send message.eml as zipped attachment to me 14. I will drag and drop the message.eml form WIN files explorer to my TB inbox 15. we will compare results concerning "starred" status. I forgot to ask: POP3 or IMAP account?
Summary: Message has set youself star status → Received E-Mail gets "starred" status without user action
I haven't examined the message, but if you are using filters perhaps bug 391717?

Exuse me, but I cannot do it - I have deleted this mail long time ago. I only have zip of this letter. My answer for your second question - I use POP3.
