Since upgrading to TB40.0 almost all my email is being flagged as junk and moved to the junk folder. Junquilla shows Flame+Flag, but shows no score. A few messages seem to be getting through to my inbox, and a few are being processed correctly as spam so this is very odd. If this is widespread then it's data-losing, i.e. lots of real email flagged as spam. Happy to help track down if its useful, but please let me know soon if you want this as I'm going to switch back to 39.0 or 38.0 in a few hours as TB is currently unusable.
Flame+flag indicates that there is a junk status flag set on the message on the IMAP server.
Is there a way (independent of Thunderbird) to check that flag - that would help tell if its a TB problem or a problem on the server. (I have access to the server).
There must be another way, but I don't know what it is. Maybe an IMAP log will show the flags being read?
Some more research shows the problem was a rarely used machine running an older version of TB with an untrained spam catcher. It was enthusiastically flagging nearly all email as spam. An automatic update was initialized when I did the version check, so I'm not sure what version it was. Since it restarted there haven't been any more problems than would be expected by a over-enthusiastic spam-checker. Since I can't repeat it without trying each of the potentially large number of back versions, I'll mark this is a closed-worksforme unless it recurs.
