This worked for me before, and someone on chat mentioned he just tried both stable and nightly on archlinux and it works for stable, but not for nightly. Therefore, adding regression keyword

I forgot to mention this, I have gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly and gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly installed. Other media players including gnome's totem (which uses gstreamer) have no problem playing mp4 and h264 videos. Also, cisco's plugin is set to "Always activate"

Firstly, Arch Linux does not use the same mozconfig as Mozilla builds. Arch uses GStreamer 1.0, whereas Mozilla builds still use GStreamer 0.10. I have H.264 support in both aurora and nightly on Arch Linux x86_64. You most likely haven't installed gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg. Removing regression keywords as there is no regression, and closing as INVALID as this is not a bug.

Before I go, I should also note that Arch suggests installing the good plugins, rather than ugly.

You do realize there is no gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg package on Ubuntu 3.19.0? I do have gstreamer0.10-plugins-good, gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly installed, all of them. I do also have gstreamer1.0-plugins-good, gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad, gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly installed. I do also have gstreamer1.0-plugins-good, gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad, gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly installed. I do also have gstreamer1.0-libav (and there's no equivalent gstreamer0.10 package for that). Reopening. If you want to have more information about installed packages, please just ask. Again there's no gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, and I've pretty much installed everything else. Can you please recheck this is not a firefox issue? (all other gstreamer-based stuff can play h264 just fine, again, see the original bug description.)

Sorry, meant to say Ubuntu 15.04 of course. That's the kernel version I quoted above there (:
