Currently it will show a success popup saying you have installed successfully just after fastboot flashing. We should rather wait that the device boots and checks that it has the build really installed.
Component: General → B2gInstaller
The process could be:
 - flash with fastboot
 - read the BuildID in application.ini in the blobfree distribution
 - once finished, wait for adb to come back
 - check existence of /system/b2g/b2g
 - check existence of /system/b2g/application.ini and read it
 - compare the buildid with the one from the distribution we picked

If they match, it's okay. If not, means something went bad.
Depends on: 1208988
What about user builds ? Those will not have ADB enabled out of the box, so I don't know how we can expect to get ADB back after installation and reboot to check this.

So I cant think of any possible way around this, seems like if we see its a user build we are flashing we will just have to not check
