I am also having this problem. Steps to replicate:
Running Debian Linux (vmlinuz-3.16.7).
Install Firefox Nightly 43.0a1 (2015-08-23) from firefox-43.0a1.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2.
Open Nightly and browse to https://oneanddone.mozilla.org/en-US/tasks/24/ (Test the Shumway SWF player).
Install the Shumway add-on by clicking this link. (http://www.areweflashyet.com/shumway/extension/firefox/shumway.xpi)
Pop up: oneanddone.mozilla.org - Nightly prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer.
Clicked "Allow."
Pop up: oneanddone.mozilla.org - Nightly has prevented this site from installing an unverified add-on.
Installation of Shumway fails.
