Some Flash animation on play audio but Firefox does not display the audio indicator in the tab. Perhaps Flash is failing to report audio playback for animations playing certain types of embedded audio? Chrome does display audio indicators for this Flash animations.

What platform and what version of Flash do you see it on?  I can't reproduce on Mac or Windows.

oops! My Flash was too old (18.0.0.209). When I installed Flash Beta 19.0.0.133, then the audio indicator worked as expected. Sorry for the confusion! :)
