I received e-mail on 10 August reporting validation failures for add-ons for FF 40. This version of FF is to be released on 11 August. The validation appears to have been done on 8 August. This is all too late to be of much use. How about running the validation tests at least a week before releasing a new version of FF!
Yes, the process is done manually (identifying the issues, filing validator bugs, running the compatibility checker) and it depends on a bunch of moving parts. Unfortunately this time it was run unusually (and unacceptably late). It's usually run at least a couple of weeks in advance, ideally more than 5. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do to guarantee this won't happen again, but I'm doing as much as I can. Closing as Invalid since there's no action to perform on the site itself.
