I've had Thunderbird and Firefox open for a couple of days. Today before a meeting at 11am I was just checking email. I left my computer running at my desk and when I came back after the meeting (~20 minutes later) I noticed some of my Firefox tabs were rendering in the Thunderbird tab bar.

I've attached a screenshot so that you can see the issue. Switching back and forth between Firefox and Thunderbird continues this effect. I'm inclined to think this is probably a Windows 10 issue and not a Firefox or Thunderbird issue but I thought I'd file it anyway.

It's really weird and I don't know how to debug this further.

I noticed today that Thunderbird is rendering whatever was behind the tab bar previously. For example, in this screenshot I had Lastpass open maximized before alt-tabbing to Thunderbird. I'm inclined to think this might be a Windows 10 Thunderbird bug.

Here's another interesting screenshot. I unmaximized the Thunderbird window and the window went black, reverting border elements to the Windows 7 theme.

One final note, restarting Thunderbird seems to make all these issues disappear. I'm sure it'll come back at some point though.

I don't know, the issue is not reliably reproducible. Even if I run with HWA off for a few days that won't necessarily confirm this is a HWA issue.

Understood. But leave it off and if it reappears we at least know it's not HWA :)
