Using a P90 with 32 megs of RAM running Windows 95*, the widgets in Mozilla are not very responsive. If I click on the Edit menu, for instance, it takes a second and a half before the choices drop down. Trying to highlight the Preferences selection with the mouse takes three seconds for the highlight to pop up. When I try to change my Preferences, I often must click twice on a particular topic, like Smart Browsing, before it displays. Occasionally it takes several seconds before the scroll bars register my input. Even following links is sluggish; often I cannot tell if I have successfully clicked a link until a few seconds later.

The whole feel of Mozilla on this machine makes me think I'm running it remotely.

* Other apps running include Norton Antivirus AutoProtect, Notepad, and Dialup Networking.
Using the latest build (Aug 15 @ 23:50), I have similar
problems with my PII 400 with 128 megs of RAM running
Windows NT 4. Trying to use the menus in the latest build
is difficult because they are so slow to respond. M8 does
not exhibit much of this same behavior; the top-level
menus in M8 are Windows-style, whereas the menus in the
latest build appear to be original. The problem is still
present in M8 in the Preferences dialog for example,
however.

we're all over this problem.
I don't think having this bug open is really
gonna change anything, we're working on it.
If there's a specific functionality that is slow,
please help us pin-point it. Marking invalid.

Yep...getting better all the time. Look up [Perf] bugs to see all the work
being done.
