I'm working with the MDN team to produce Mozilla's first developer conference called 'View Source'. IT is currently hosting our website (https://viewsourceconf.org/) on the static cluster. Soon we need to implement a CMS and we're looking at Wordpress. Requirements: * own tld: viewsourceconf.org <http://viewsourceconf.org> * migration from static cluster. This may include helping setup test and prod instances on WPEngine's infra, joining code reviews (let's make sure custom code plays nice with caching, etc), etc.) * ability to apply custom theme (which we'll produced for us) * external vendor access for dev (theme, etc) & content

Hey Ali, When we talked last week you were only planning for a handful of pages with only occasional updates and we figured WordPress would probably be overkill. Has that plan changed now? Do you expect to publish regular, ongoing updates that will require a CMS?
Hey Ali, please see Craig's question above. I know we do plan to at least do a few rounds of updates, as speakers and content is confirmed.

Yes, we have multiple non-web-dev teams updating the site, so it makes more sense to do WordPress so we can update the conference content as needed.

Hi, does this answer clear up questions. Are we free to move ahead. This bug is critical path for the conference.

We can set up the blog now but it may not be of much use until the theme is in place. It could be hard to do much around content without having the theme first, in case the theme ends up using custom post types, custom page templates, etc. Is there a bug tracking theme development? What's the target date? We can create the blog at blog.mozilla.org/viewsourceconf and apply the theme when it's ready, then you can fill in the initial content and we'll just re-map the domain to the blog when we're ready to flip the switch. Ali, who else besides you should have access?

I have a WordPress developer (who Luke Crouch recommended & is located in Tulsa) ready to start as soon as the contract is approved by legal. Creative for the site will be reviewed today, and assets provided in a few days. Trisha (the dev) will start working on the theme as soon as the creative and assets are ready. Target date in September 30 for first review. blog.mozilla.org/viewsourceconf is great.
