User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0 Build ID: 20141126041045 Steps to reproduce: Logitech Setpoint (latest version) works fine up to to FF 39 public release and fails in FF 41 beta Actual results: FF 41 displays error as seen attached Expected results: It should work so that I can use smooth webpage scroilling with mouse wheel
OS: Unspecified → Windows 7
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64
I think this may be caused by the new addon signing requirement: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Addons/Extension_Signing
is this a new requirement since FF39?
The addon is necessary for allowing Logitech's mice to use high resolution scrolling. If it's disabled, their wheel causes normal resolution scrolling. On the other hand, it's not necessary for the newest product, MX Master. So, I'm not sure how they treat the addon in the future. (When we support high resolution scrolling first time, SetPoint doesn't use addon, but they started to install the addon from later version. So, technically, it must not be necessary.)
I can scroll totally smooth with the addon in FF39 and earlier smooth scrolling is very jumpy (3 lines at a time with the tiniest turn of the wheel) with FF41 beta because the addon is disabled
I had a pipe to Logitech's engineers, but they may already be moved since I don't communicate them for a couple of years. So, we need to look for a new engineer of Logitech...
thanks
Hi guys, The Logitech Setpoint software version was not updated since before the issue was reported so the issue still reproduces on latest Firefox release 42.0. Any luck with those engineers from Logitech Masayuki ? I am updating the status of the issue to New and move it to the right component. Perhaps there's someone with extensive knowledge on this area that might be able to help here. Thanks, Paul.
