Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/38.1.0
Build ID: 2015070700

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start composing a new mail (plain text)
2. Paste text which contains newlines
3. Send message

In the composing window, the text looks fine, i.e.:
foo
bar
qux

Once sent however, all pasted newlines are doubled:
foo

bar

qux

The doubled newlines also show up when the mail is in the "Sent" or "Drafts" directory.

This bug appears after the upgrade to 38.1.0.
It is not present in previously installed version 31.7.0 (2015050800)
Looking at the release notes, it might be associated with the fix of bug 1143570
I don't see this, and reporter email no longer works.
