bitly url shortening adds complexity & performance issues, and costs extra to preserve utm_* tracking parameters.

Who would use this?

Readers clicking to share an article

What would users see?

Sharers would see the same links to click.

What would users do? What would happen as a result?
===================================================
Users click a share link, and they see a long developer.mozilla.org/...?utm_source=... url in their share instead of a short mzl.la link
