Was using Fennec on the train, browser often enters a no service state with WiFi available at some stations. On attempt to load a page all I would get is a white screen (no error message). We should make sure we're capturing this state with an error page.

I just loaded something on an iPod touch with the WiFi dropped or somehow disconnected and I got a proper 'THe internet connection appear to be offline.' error message. See attached screenshot. We need an STR if this bug is about something different.

Try with a phone in area with no signal. E.g, I get this all the time on the subway where connectivity can drop while entering a tunnel.

I have a feeling that this is a result of the web server's socket becoming closed after backgrounding the app or locking the screen. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201592 for details.
