Since Fx 40 (I have not seen this before) if I plugin my external Dell monitor (1920x1200) into my MacBook Pro (retina display) the currently active window gets re-rendered properly, but some of the tabs in the background don't get resized/re-rendered as demonstrated in the attached screen shot.
If I switch though my open tabs I see the majority with the proper re-rendered content, but maybe 25% stay with the old, too small content.

Matt, any layout insight on what could be going on?

Do you have e10s enabled?
We might not be notifying the content process that the DPI has changed.

Yes quite likely that I had e10s turned on at the time. I meanwhile turned it off again, because of some other problems. Which actually makes me realize that I have seen this problem for some time. Let me try to turn on e10s and see if I can still reproduce it.
