User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150807085045

Steps to reproduce:

HP dv7-6195us, Windows 10, Firefox 40. All current Windows 10 patches installed.

Web site login screens no longer pop up the fingerprint login (via HP Simple Pass addin). That add-in shows in the FF screens. This was working in FF 39.03. Fingerprint login to the Windows 10 system works.

Actual results:

No fingerprint-enabled login screens on any site. This happened immediately after the FF 40 update. Windows startup/authentication with fingerprint works OK.

Happens on all web sites that used to work OK with v 39.0.3. Have ensured latest/current driver for the Biometric Device.

Expected results:

On web site login screens, HP Simple Pass should pop up so that a fingerprint can be used to authenticate to the site. Essentially, fingerprint login to sites is broken.

It's up to HP to fix its product HP SimplePass to make it compatible with OSes and browsers.

Are you sure this add-on is compatible with Win 10?

The only reference I can find is
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03653209
which says valid with Windows 8.

Has it been fixed? I will close here.
But if the problem persists it is probably better to contact the HP support forum.
