User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150812163655 Steps to reproduce: (After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in my desktop PC. Upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 in my laptop did not have this issue) Ctrl-F write text to search Actual results: if the text is not in webpage, the colors in the page invert momentarily. If goes back to normal in a blink. Expected results: Should not have happened.
It looks like a graphics issue. Could you type about:support in the location bar of FF40 and copy here the section "graphics". In addition, try to catch a screenshot of the issue and attach it to the bug report if possible. If you installed Win 10, be sure your GPU drivers are up-to-date, it's important because Win 10 is young and GPU providers needed to fix recent bugs.

Screenshot of the issue attached.
Are you running the latest drivers of AMD for Win 10? As Win 10 is recent, it's better to run the latest drivers.
Please see device manager check screenshot.

This sounds to me like a system-level feature, something like "flash the screen for an 'alert' beep if the speaker is muted". Check the Windows control panel. Maybe the Ease of Access option under "Use visual cues instead of sounds" is turned on? (I see that in Win8.1, not sure if it's in the same place in Win10.)
