When I go to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/ I get 550 Permission denied. Worked fine several weeks ago.

And is there any way to access these files by FTP? ftp://archive.mozilla.org/pub/ also returns me 550…
No, in this case deprecated means 'ftp:// has been turned off, because it won't be supported in the new system'.
