Steps to reproduce:

I use Firefox and have more than one tab open.  I am about to change browsers.  This has been happening only since the last Firefox update.


Actual results:

The program stops responding.  When I bring up task manager it shows that Firefox is using between 50 to 100 percent of the CPU and 75+ percent of the memory.  


Expected results:

It should not stop responding and it shouldn't use that much of the system resources.

When the memory use is very huge, could type about:memory in the location bar and save a memory log. Then attach it to the bug report.

In addition, are you able to reproduce a similar CPU/memory use with a fresh profile and the same tabs open? Sometimes some add-ons could be the cause of this behaviour.

Thank you for the bug report, Jackie. We need more information to make any progress with this because
comment 0 doesn't have steps to reproduce and only vague measurements.

Does it happen on particular websites?

Similarly, getting info from about:support (click on the "copy text to clipboard" button) and pasting it here would be very helpful.
