For security purposes, extensions should require a password to be installed. Not apple-like madness with centralized mandatory signing. Maybe i'm completely deluded, but i find requiring a password more reasonable then mandatory signing. I would like to hear at least some reasoning, why the developers believe that centralized mandatory signing is beater then a password!!!
Users does not have the ability to identify the source and safety of add-ons, there is almost no differences with a warning. And, the significantly increases the user barrier, and is not easily achieved at the program level for a permission mechanism rather than a signature verification mechanism.
