I just upgraded my windows 98 box to windows 2000. Now my mail is gone.
I don't know if this would happen with outlook. I think it definitely shouldn't
happen with Mozilla though. IMHO ideally the mozilla directory could be stored
on a cd or other archive and replaced to be in perfect working order. I keep it
on another drive that doesn't get reformatted with the os. I think it should
act normal no matter what happened to the os partition.
By the way can anyone tell me how I can recover my mail?
Thank you very much if so!

The problem is that mozilla doesn't use relative paths and the pathdirectory is
different on Win9X and WINNT/2k/XP
Mozilla should created a new profile on win2k.
You can recover your mail if you do this :
Create the Mail Account in your new profile.
after that close mozilla and copy :
"oldprofile\mail\Account1\*.* newprofile\mail\account1\" (if you use pop3)
copy oldprofile\bookmarks.html newprofile\bookmarks.html
If you need more help write an email or come on
irc://irc.mozilla.org/#mozillazine and ask.

Do you think the mozilla users should maybe be stored inside the mozilla folder
instead of the system folder? Must this destined to be great program comply
with microsofts user structure? Or can we have our own user structure?
If not, we need a program that exports all Mozilla data to a backup that can be
restored onto a working Mozilla install, restoring a users complete browsing
experinece. [Would be great!]
