1197520 - Favorite contacts automatically shows duplicate times

I added two contacts in favorite and first day I noticed only two contacts in favorite sections. Then suddenly one day I noticed now I see them in duplicate entries. Today I see their entries 8 times (attaching screenshot)

I remember seeing this issue while testing the first version of the patch in bug 1112551. Fernando, could this be a race condition due to the cache?

I also remember seeing this issue while working on that bug, but it is supposed to be fixed.

I am seeing this issue since long time on Flame. I recently updated to 20150820 build, the issue is still there. I tried removing all contacts from favorites after flashing and adding them back, the issue is still reproducible.
