Windows XP's market share has shrunk to a third of what it was two years ago: https://www.netmarketshare.com/report.aspx?qprid=11&qpaf=&qpcustom=Windows+XP&qpcustomb=0&qpsp=176&qpnp=23&qptimeframe=M

As part of the remaining 10% share, Luna Silver is again a minority. I don't think it's justified anymore that we ship variants of our icons specifically tailored for Luna Silver. The default XP variants should be good enough.

This isn't worth doing as a separate step anymore. We'll just remove all XP-specific images once we've dropped support (bug 1130266).
