1199022 - Calendar preview in main windows (sidebar) is not consistent

Steps to reproduce:

First of all, I am using a german localized version of Thunderbird 38.0.2, there I hope that I am able to find the correct english words to describe the screen items.

In the main TB windows, there's a special "Calendar preview" sidebar located at the right side. It lists calendar entries and tasks for today, tomorrow and the next few days.


Actual results:

If I create an entry in the Lightning "full view", all entries get a background color that covers the whole line. Regardless if the entries are marked "all day" or if they are limited to a certain period.
The Lightning full view displays the entries in a very similar way: All-day entreis have no time, while time-limited entries show their beginning time.
So far, so good.

But the "preview" sidebar in the main mail windows, shows the entries in a weird (sorry) way. All-day entries get their background color that covers the line completely. While time-limited entries always have a white background.
There are very thin lines that separate the lines, but they seem to disappear
because the full-colored all-day entries are too dominating and catch my viewer's focus. If a day has 3 (or more) all-day reminder entries, it appears as if 3 days are affected, instead of 3 entries on one day.
More over, the entries listed below "next days after today and tomorrow", each line shows the date, even if a day contains more than one entry:

Expected results:

The preview sidebar should me modified:

1. I would like to handle the background color of the items all the same way: both all-day and period-limited items should have the same background color, just like shown in the main calendar windows. Or all they should have no background color, to make it fit better into the look of the mail main window.
-> avoids that all-day entries separate the entrys stronger than the actual (very thin) separating lines

2. Reduce the separating lines in the ""next days after today and tomorrow" area, according to the days:

I think that your request is covered by others, more specific, bugs, for example bug 417222, bug 573419, maybe others too, but basically it should be a duplicate of bug 417222.
