I am currently at http://www.backwoodshome.com/blogs/ClaireWolfe/ I want to go to lewrockwell.com, by typing "l" in the location bar. Actual results: When I type it I get the autocomplete list. At the top of this list is my *current url* rather than lewrockwell.com as it is supposed to be (my most visited site starting with "l"). Lewrockwell.com is now listed second. This is a recent change in behavior. Expected results: lewrockwell.com should have been listed first, with the current url nowhere in the list.
@bonneau Thank you for the report. Can you please read <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>, what will help you to contribute information as precise as we need. Some questions: a) afaik this "Match only at the beginning..." only is for bookmarks, not for history b) so if you have checked "... suggestions from history" it sould not be wrong that auot-complete suggests "backwoodshome.com/blogs/ClaireWolfe/"after typed "l" from history. c) so please tell complete related settings

Summary: Location bar autocomplete list is incorrect → Location bar autocomplete does not respect property "Match only at the beginning..."
"Match only at the beginning..." is a sub-selection of "Autocomplete from your browsing history..." I don't know what you mean for "complete related settings".

The page title of http://www.backwoodshome.com/blogs/ClaireWolfe/ is "Living Freedom" and begins with L so is therefore eligible to be in the list. In previous versions of SeaMonkey you might have used about:config to change the browser.urlbar.default.behavior to 17 which prevents this title from matching but unfortunately Firefox removed this in bug 530209. (The option to use # L to search for only URLs with L does still work though.)
So the title page is included in the search? Even if it is not the beginning (follows the location)? I now see that the preferences call it out as "Only at the beginning of the location or title". How lame. I can type anything from "l" to "living" and it gives me Claire's blog, but if I type "living freedom" it gives me nothing. Makes lots of sense... Maybe we need another option, "Only at the beginning of only the location". Is that what it was a while back? There definitely was a recent change of behavior. This change is not an improvement. OK, might as well close this bug.
