User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150826023504

Steps to reproduce:

Opened Thunderbird (set to automatically check all accounts on startup)

Actual results:

Displayed error message "The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail serve...is not permitted in current state (NotAuthenticatedServerError)" twice, then proceeded to delete all local copies of my email from that account. (Hotmail using IMAP).

Expected results:

It should have checked and retrieved any new email for that account, not deleting everything else (over 100,000 messages that now have to be downloaded again because of this **** which is going to take days because of how this piece of **** ineptly does the job).
Did THunderbird think the account was gone?
Or, did hotmail roll the imap uids here? If hotmail did, then THunderbird is not at fault.
Summary: randomly throws out all of my local copies of email in hotmail account → local copies of email imap hotmail account removed after "The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail serve...is not permitted in current state (NotAuthenticatedServerError)"
