User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150826185949 Steps to reproduce: I'm on Linux Mint 17.2, TB 38.2.0, Lightning 4.0.2. Moved $HOME/.thunderbird to an other disk because I ran out of space. Made a symlink and restarted Thunderbird. Actual results: Error message: Thunderbird (e-mail) starts, but Lightning doesn't. Error message: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570015 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.createInstance]" nsresult: "0x80570015 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: resource://calendar/modules/calUtils.jsm -> file:///home/jaap/.thunderbird/rj5uqult.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calUtils.js :: _calIcalCreator/< :: line 17" data: no] Expected results: Lightning should start. When I move .thunderbird back to $HOME/.thunderbird everything works fine again. Lightning can't handle the symlink.
Component: Untriaged → General
Product: Thunderbird → Calendar
Version: 38 → Lightning 4.0.2
Could you ensure that the other disk is mounted with exec flag? If this flag is missing Lightning cannot be executed.
Thanks, added exec in /etc/fstab and Lightning starts as expected.
