Looking to update the existing iOS v1.0 screenshots (attached) with the following: 1. Overall Design -Add texture to background, perhaps similar to the product page? -Option: add Firefox icon (if it fits) -for iPad version, position it like iPhone and increase device size (ie move device down and increase size) 2. Updated Text (to be provided, target 9/4) 3. Updated on device screenshots -to be provided, target 9/4. Note there will be at 1 or 2 on device screenshots that will come in a few weeks (these are new features currently not in the build) 4. New creative needed for 2 of the screenshots. #1: Based on: "Seamless Browsing with Sync" "Instantly access your bookmarks, history, open tabs and passwords everywhere you use Firefox" a. Remove phones/device. Create a visual that shows a laptop, tablet and mobile phone, with a mobile phone at the forefront. For the content on the screens, ideally would like to show a clear image that is easy to read and representative of the browsing experience across all three devices. #2: "Fast, Safe. Yours." screenshots - would like to have a few versions. The text will be something similar to this: "Join hundreds of millions of Firefox desktop and mobile users and upgrade to the powerful Firefox on your iPhone and iPad" At this stage we will be doing a/b testing on the versions below. a. Existing version with new on device screenshots (Mike to provide) b. Existing version with device. on device screen shot will be updated with firefox for iOS mobile home page. (Can you use the existing home page, but remove "preview release" banner. Make sure the "download on the app store" app is visable) c. No Phone, but art that is similar to the attached "100 million Fx Android" file. However we cant use that one because its Android specific. Do we have another option where we tout our overall # of users? d. C+D (ie C art on a device) 5. A master template, 1 PSD with all 5 resolutions to be passed on to agency to add localizations. We are planning to localize in 10 languages Requirements: 1. A flexible system to be able to make modifications and apply to different multiple versions/localizations. For example, if we need to adjust sizing or update the on device screenshot, we can do so on one image and it will be applicable to all other languages. We need this because 1 on device screenshot will come in late, and we are doing A/B testing on another so the contents of the screenshots will change. 2. Can we use iPhone 6+ on device screenshots and resize for iPhone 4S, 5 and 6 since we arent showing the whole device? (iPhone 5, 6 and 6+ have same 16:9 aspect ratio) 3. Ability to change text and have it apply to all 5 device sizes **download original psds: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uatgu4rvr9rscox/iOS_Final_PNGs_02.zip?dl=0 Specs: Creative: 72 DPI RGB, flattened, no transparency High-qual JPG or PNG Background: match current iOS product page textured art Device: use devices listed below Sizes: iPhone 4 - 3.5"retina: 640 x 960 pixels for hi-res portrait (full screen) maximum iPhone 5 - 4" retina: 640 x 1136 pixels for portrait (full screen) maximum iPhone 6 - 4.7" retina: 750 x 1334 pixels for hi-res portrait iPhone 6+ - 5.5" retina: 1242 x 2208 pixels for hi-res portrait iPad: 1536 x 2048 pixels for hi-res portrait (full screen) maximum
An update on 4., #2, the first stage is to create 1200x444 versions of the screenshot to test on FB. Note that there should be any headline or subtext on the FB ad version. Ive attached a sketch. Can we have this completed by 9/7?. Refer to sketch titles "AppStore Screenshot AB testing"
Just looked at the latest apple guidelines and looks like we need to modify some of the Apple Devices in our screenshots: Sizes: iPhone 4 - 3.5"retina: 640 x 960 pixels, Device: White iPhone 5 - 4" retina: 640 x 1136 pixels, Device: White iPhone 6 - 4.7" retina: 750 x 1334 pixels, Device: Space Grey iPhone 6+ - 5.5" retina: 1242 x 2208 pixels , Device: Space Grey iPad Mini 2: 1536 x 2048 pixels Device: Space Grey So for iPhone 6, 6+ and iPad we need to update to space grey.
(In reply to mhan@mozilla.com from comment #4) > Just looked at the latest apple guidelines and looks like we need to modify > some of the Apple Devices in our screenshots: > > Sizes: > iPhone 4 - 3.5"retina: 640 x 960 pixels, Device: White > iPhone 5 - 4" retina: 640 x 1136 pixels, Device: White > iPhone 6 - 4.7" retina: 750 x 1334 pixels, Device: Space Grey > iPhone 6+ - 5.5" retina: 1242 x 2208 pixels , Device: Space Grey > iPad Mini 2: 1536 x 2048 pixels Device: Space Grey > > So for iPhone 6, 6+ and iPad we need to update to space grey. What's our legal risk here? It would be nice to have some flexibility as being restricted to a single device color may also restrict (or at least influence) other design decisions. We have to make sure we're adhering to our own brand guidelines first and foremost.

Actually, the templates that Apple provides for the iPhone 6 and 6+ cover both Space Grey (Black front) and Silver (white front). Were not limited to one color only.

Ty, for the first screenshot graphic, consider using something like this too: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/11/10/celebrating-choice-control-and-independence-on-the-web/ What do you think about that one vs the Android 100 million? To keep things simple, lets not iterate on the different options for screenshot 1 and lock on either this option or a modified android 100 million download one. I have a separate inquiry with Matej on the text if we go with the 100 million creative.
Ty, Spoke with Matej and he mentioned that we wont be able to use the independence assets since it was for another campaign. We also cant think of anything appropriate to call out if we wanted to reuse the Android ribbon. Can you take a stab at creating a new graphic based off of the Firefox logo that fits "Upgrade to the power of Firefox. Join hundreds of millions of Firefox users on desktop and mobile."?
Maybe it's something like looking up at the browser on a phone from below so it looks triumphant. There could be rays behind it, etc.
Ty, For the on device screenshots, you can use the ones from this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BxiQvPDzee3Efld3NEtuZFFNWTdndFBoTDRuVXBVc0VVRkVMcnNqcEtPV1RDQXl2MmR3ZU0 Screenshots: 1st - "Fast.." - you will be creating something from scratch 2nd - "Visual Tab" - use the tab on device screenshot 3rd - "Search" - use the search on device screenshot 4th - "Sync" - need creative from you on this 5th - "Private Browsing" - on device screenshot coming later (early October.
Ty, Touching base here to see the status of the of screenshots. Are we on track for finalizing this Friday?
(In reply to mhan@mozilla.com from comment #11) > Ty, > > Touching base here to see the status of the of screenshots. Are we on track > for finalizing this Friday? Mike, Im still in the process of setting up the artboards. Currently creating A/B testing content for all screenshot sizes. eg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jzffg1bci3j6m6m/Screenshot%202015-09-09%2016.10.30.png?dl=0 A few things we need to figure out: 1. SYNC screenshot - "Create a visual that shows a laptop, tablet and mobile phone, with a mobile phone at the forefront. For the content on the screens, ideally would like to show a clear image that is easy to read and representative of the browsing experience across all three devices." - Generic devices will be used for the desktop/laptop & tablet offerings. This will apply to the iPad screenshots too. - We will need to look at alternate websites (and their translated versions) to use here depending on certain locales. We can select certain sites like National Geographic, Mashable, Huffington Post, etc, as generic options for EN locales, however for some locales, a website that is more popular would be far more beneficial to the prospective user. 2. FAST screenshot - "Join hundreds of millions of Firefox desktop and mobile users and upgrade to the powerful Firefox on your iPhone and iPad" Need to trim down this copy a fair bit. When localized it will be become a focal point (due to length) vs supportive. Overall should be on track for EOD Friday. Might need to tweak on Monday though.
One more thing - FB images will only be readied next week though.

Ty, Please take a look at my responses in line: 1. MH: okay! - We will need to look at alternate websites (and their translated versions) to use here depending on certain locales. We can select certain sites like National Geographic, Mashable, Huffington Post, etc, as generic options for EN locales, however for some locales, a website that is more popular would be far more beneficial to the prospective user. MH: You can make the call on this, but how about using the Firefox website? If we use alternative websites, do we have to go through legal approval? How about using Facebook? Its still globally one of the post popular destinations. 2. FAST screenshot - "Join hundreds of millions of Firefox desktop and mobile users and upgrade to the powerful Firefox on your iPhone and iPad" Need to trim down this copy a fair bit. When localized it will be become a focal point (due to length) vs supportive. MH: Heres the final screenshot text (look at iOS column): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bM7zyk49_oZmi4sVLv8KPb8aVpjYfStu-evTYJhjrd4/edit

(In reply to tflanagan from comment #13) > One more thing - FB images will only be readied next week though. Okay no problem. I originally wanted to take this off the table, but I would really like to test this. Can you confirm you will have the 3-4 versions to test on FB? I will be on PTO starting Monday so ways this can play out: 1. I get sketches on Friday and can give you direction and you can finalize 2. Ill be late to reply for feedback (checking email every few days) 3. Arcadio will be backing me up and he can sign off while Im gone.

That way we don't have to block on you or bother you while you're on PTO.
Yup.. Im good with #3.
Ty, The english iOS text is final now and can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bM7zyk49_oZmi4sVLv8KPb8aVpjYfStu-evTYJhjrd4/edit Will I be able to see a version today before I leave on vacation? While I'm gone, Arcadio will finalize the design and manage the process from a PMM perspective.

Ty, Do you have something to share with Arcadio? I know last week it looked like you were close on these.
