The official feature names will then be confirmed, and we will use them to communicate externally/internally across a bunch of marketing materials, including sell-in deck, websites, brochures, training materials, leaflets... etc. >> Creative Help Needed: Copy: Yes Design: No Video: No Other: No >>Creative Specs: Please give us a set of names for each feature, at least 3 options for each set, and have them prioritized, so we can choose from them and make decision more easily. A simple .doc would do. >>CTA and Design: Please ref slides for feature briefing https://goo.gl/pcIg4b Vanni / Voice control - Vanni sounds unique, however, i’d like to purpose we name this similar to the personality we want set to this feature, for instance, it can be more Mozillians sounds. the latter sounds very normal, easy understand, but not cool at all. Pin the web / Pin-favorite - Originally named Pin the web, although it’s sound straight fwd, I’d like to make it sound more personal. propose Pin-favorite. Help / On-boarding - I heard Help is the option here, but it’s far too comment. I'll let Jenn or Troy respond about timing, but I wanted to note that we usually shoot for ~3 really good options for something like this. It's better to keep it focused on the best contenders, but if we land on more that we really like, we'll certainly share them as well.
Hi Estela, We need a few more days to get options to you. Troy will be able to get options to you by the 15th. And just to reiterate what Matej said in comment 2, it will be closer to 3 options for each feature.
Hi Matej and Jennifer, Thank you for your reply. We have no problem with the number of the options for each feature. The reason why we were asking for more options was because we were afraid that some of the options could have already been trademarked/taken in the market, and if we had more options, we could provide all these options to Legal team for evaluation at once, and perhaps this might help us reduce the chance of repeating the naming process again. Hi Estela I just wanted to touch base on the name options — I may not have them ready until tomorrow (my copy is currently under review with Tim and Matej) but I was hoping to get some clarification on the "Help" feature in the meantime. In the feature briefing deck there is mention of an app called "Buddy Up" and I was wondering if that needed to play into the name. Same goes for the "on-boarding" side of things — does that need to be included, or is this more of a standard "help" feature? Thanks, Troy
Hi Troy, sorry for confusion. my clarification on the "Help" feature, 1. The "Buddy Up" is the original name for this application / project. 2. And "On-boarding" is also another naming came out after, however, it doesn't taken into account, at last, team (product) decided to use "Help". above two name can still be options, my only suggestion to the team is adding Firefox OS (branded) to the Help application, which i guess will be more direct and prevent conflict with any other available help application.
I've made correction to the "Help" feature in feature briefing deck. Appreciated for raising this question! :)

For voice control, the correct spelling is "Vaani" and not "Vanni". There is a bug open with a lot of details on the name proposal here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1194242. See comment 10 for background on this.

Thanks, Sandip. I'm just a little confused why were asked to come up with other name options when Vaani was already going through a trademark search (and looks like it's going to be used). This is a pretty time-intensive process for us and I want to make sure we're not doing any work that's wasted. It would also be good to involve our team before submitting a name to legal so we can have any necessary brand conversations and to make sure that everyone is comfortable proceeding.
Hi Matej, I myself was added to this bug 17hours ago, so I was not aware of this part fully either. As soon as I saw this bug, I wanted to flag the work that legal team is doing. Agree on your point though. Marvin could help clarify the process here.

Hi Sandip, I guess we (Marketing) did not dispatch the naming process clearly, apologies. Starting 2.2, Product Marketing will be the driver for feature naming. @ Estela, could you share the process flow link to Sandip thanks! Actually I do mentioned 2.5 feature naming process couple times during PM weekly meeting, 1. Product Marketing will deliver feature brief deck for each release, which will be used for in / external communication. 2. Product Marketing will communicate with Product Manager to identify features that we believe is valuable to be given a name to it. BR, Marvin

Hi Jennifer, Product and Product Marketing will start review the name candidate provide by team. for Vaani, we will follow up from the bug Sandip provided. we will get back to creative team after review. as of the naming process, we will stick to the flow Estela provided from above, I will dispatch the process info to Product Management team again to prevent this case happen again. Hi Troy, We would like to check in with you to see if it's possible for you to provide 2 more options for the feature "Help"? We think "OS Help" and "OS Helper" are good, but we would also like to see if there's any other options for this feature without using "help" in case these ones are already being used in the market. As for "Pin the Web", our favorite is "Quick Cards", and we also think that the rest of the options are good, but considering the suggestions given by Peter and Wilfred, it would be great if we could have 1 more option without the word "Pin". Hi Troy, The options for Vaani, "Voxy" and "Voice Assist" have already been used for several products, therefore we can't use them. Would you please provide more options for this voice control feature also? Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you so much for your help! Estela
