Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150807094952 Steps to reproduce: Started thunderbird. It starts connecting to some server, but is taking a long time or misconfigured in some way. I click the "stop" button. Actual results: It continues to try connecting and downloading messages. Expected results: It should "stop" trying to connect and download messages when you click the "stop" button. Theoretically, immediately stopping all current thunderbird sub-threads and waiting for a new command would be the most desireable thing to happen when you click "stop". Now I'm not even sure what the "stop" button does, at all.
Yes, "Stop" button is a neglected animal and I'd think we're not very sure where and how it works or not.
