Please clarify:
"Download and install system update" - what was updated? ACL, WhatsApp?
You list version information - was that before or after the update?
Why are you testing on EUR?
We are testing with W595_USER_SMS_0820.pac. I can't tell by that firmware version if that is newer or older. Please advise.

thanks.

W593_USER_0824_EUR is the TA version and this is the original(before update) version
I just execute the system update and launch whatsapp again

Hi,

+ Vance

Vance, can you confirm that this is not happening with the version that is being manufactured? I mean, I understand that if there is a system update notification, is because we are not using the final version. Am I right? Just to double check if this is a problem that would appear with real users.

Thanks!
David

Hi David

OK will check with ZTE, but the thing is, if indeed there is a problem to run Whatsapp after FOTA, then eventually users will run into this problem, right? Unless there won't be any FOTA for Open C2

Hi Vance,

Right, we need to assure that FOTAs are going to work with ACL and wo/ loosing any user information, that's very important because almost sure that there will be FOTAs in the future. But I think we can work this in the future, and we need also to clarify if the manufactured version of the device is working well...

Cheers!
David
I have just reproduced this bug (WA is not launched after system update) then I have uninstall ACL, then download and install it (v41) and then WA is working fine.
I hope it helps to investigate the issue.
This is not a blocker for the launch but remains to be a P1. I am investigating a way to enable OM to reproduce the issue, in other words, a way to mimic OTA to induce the issue.
verify again, currently check for update will return request.status:404
verify with ACL 0.1.72 and Whatsapp 2.12.287-omrel1.0.20, still the same from comment 8
Mike - Please provide ability to reproduce this issue. I see no System update on Notification drop down. and have never seen or been able to reproduce this. If I select "Check for Updates" from Settings -> Device Information, I get "There was an error when check-ing for updates" How are you continuing to validate this issue?

the same with you, please contact with ZTE if this still can be verified
