Details
I've noticed this sometimes when reading network news. I haven't been able to
find a totally reproducible case, but generally, I've had the window open for a
while and I receive some new messages (which end up at the bottom). And either
the thumb is gone at that point, or I scroll down with the arrow and then the
thumb/slider disappears.
