1201358 - cookie and history URL prefs should be separate

Cookie preferences should not depend on my history preference. I like all cookies and URLs to be kept for a session only. I just found out that the cookie per-session setting requires that I not use private browsing mode and that I not set the Firefox Will menu to Never Remember History. Since history is usually about URLs and not cookies, there's an apparent conflict, in that if I don't want URLs stored past a session then Firefox may store cookies past it but if I don't want cookies kept past a session then URLs may be kept past it.

This is in FF 40.0 for openSuse 13.2 Linux.

Either the browser should be enhanced to allow limiting both at the same time or Preferences > Privacy's user interface should be restructured or reworded. I prefer allowing limiting both at the same time.

This just isn't the case. Never Remember History ("permanent private browsing mode") destroys cookies on shutdown. It just won't destroy all the cookies that were set before you entered 'never remember history' mode. We've had this discussion in another bug already. I'm resolving this bug as invalid because there isn't anything we can fix specific to this bug. We have other bugs on file about improving the wording in about:preferences.
