Shift+LeftClick opens a blank page

(Core :: DOM: Navigation, defect)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0
Build ID: 20150618135210

Steps to reproduce:

Navigate to Put "KATL" in the "Origin" textbox and "KLAX" in the "Destination" textbox, then click the magnifying glass button to the right of the "Destination" textbox. You will proceed to the search results page. Hold Shift and left click on any of the flight numbers in the "Ident" column (examples "DAL1161", "DAL2337").

Actual results:

A new window will open, but will be blank.

This problem started after I upgraded to 40.0.2, and still happens in 40.0.3.

Expected results:

What has always happened for years -- the new window should open and display the content.

PS: Instead of using "Shift+LeftClick", if I right click for the context menu and then choose "Open Link in New Window" it works as it should.
Summary: Sometimes "Open in New Window" or Shift-Click opens a blank page → Shift+LeftClick opens a blank page
Component: Untriaged → Document Navigation
Product: Firefox → Core
