This isn't exactly a dupe of bug 119860, but my remarks in http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119860#c2 apply here also. Mac specific Bidi -> ftang

Did this ever work on OSX? I'm wondering if we need to fix this: http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/widget/src/mac/nsMacMessagePump.cpp#679 or something similar

With current builds, this sometimes works and sometime not. Not sure about why each.

did some more investigation: it seems that I am only able to switch to a unicode keyboard when there are no tabs open. The moment I have more then one tab, the unicode keyboard becoms unavalibe. Since I use tabbed browsing a lot, this is a real pain...
Shoshannah, are you able to use other Unicode keyboard layouts such as Extended Roman? I noted in my bug 115887 that when Unicode keyboard layouts become unavailable, putting Mozilla in the background, then bringing it back to the foreground seems to make them available again.

Mac OS 10.2 now come with Hebrew support "out of the box"- but Hebrew uses a unicode keyboard (indenticl to my hakced one), so this is getiing more major.

this should work. do you still have the problem ? we know flash have some problem with ime or keyevent. make sure you do not have a flash display when you test it (flash not needed in the same page, as long as it is initial but not shutdown, it has problem right now.)
