If you use the File>Open Web Location method, the URL is fetched normally. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. type in url 2. hit enter 3. get no result

Sounds like the dupe of a recent bug (I don't remember the #), where if you downloaded one of the 1/14 builds, it caused corruption of localstore.rdf. Go through your localstore.rdf file and fix all of the places where it says: "<RDF:lifoo" to say "<RDF:li>foo" and it should fix the problem.
Please reopen if the problem remains after following the suggestions from comment 2. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 120049 ***
