Steps to reproduce:

I had lightning, but it would not allow me to add or delete entries after my last Thunderbird update.  I removed the Lightning add-on to attempt to re add it.  When I went to re-add it the "Add-on's Manager" would not let me and quoted, " The add-on from services.addons.modzilla.org could not be installed because it does not match the add-on Thunderbird expected.  Please not this is on a MAC.


Actual results:

Nothing.  Lightning would not add 


Expected results:

I should have added and I should be using my calendar right now.  Instead I am sending this bug report.
Can please check the log (ctrl+shift+j) and post the messages you get when trying to get Lightning? From which version did you update to 38.2.0?

Same thing with 38 on Linux, Thunderbird Conversations 2.10.1-let-fixed

Could this be related to the magic "fixing against my will" of the addon by amo?
