Details

The browser no longer will Minimize. It used to work in other builds utill I
downloaded something. Once I downloaded something it would no longer minimize.
I just downloaded Build ID: 2002011604. Now the browser will no longer
minimize under any condition. It acts like it is minimizing but then pops up
immediately.
I am using Windows ME and Win2k on seperate machines with all the latest patches
and service packs.

Thanks
Worksforme with build 2002011604, Win98. Even after downloading something.
Summary: Browser will not Minimuize → Browser will not minimize
What do you mean by "until I downloaded something". That you downloaded a file
using mozilla and stored it to disk? Or, you downloaded something unrelated to
mozilla (and possibly installed/executed it?).

this works for me in current trunk win2k mozilla build.
I just downloaded the latest nightly build and it still will not minimize.
This is on WinME
The build is 2002011803.
I did a complete uninstall of the previous versions before I installed this one.
The browser window will not minimize still
Rick: how would I reproduce this bug? From your comments, these are the steps
I'm testing with:

Step 1: download a recent nightly and install it
Step 2: start the browser
Step 3: try to minimize it

Expected: window minimizes

Actual: window minimizes

This series of steps works for me, but I have w2k. You seem to suggest that your
actual results are that the window doesn't minimize, on WinME.

If my steps are wrong, please give me the correct steps to follow.
I have had the same problem after compiling Mozilla 0.9.7 or a nightly debug
build on Windows 2000 Pro SP2 and running it along side an official 0.9.7
release. I'm not sure about previous version as I have not tested/compiled them
together yet. I did not change *any* source or config file(s) before compiling
the source.

This should reproduce the problem:
1. Install an official Mozilla.org release or nightly.
2. Compile the source of a build after 0.9.7 (I assume it would also affect some
source trees before this too)
3. Run the newly compile version and make sure it is using the Classic interface.
4. Try minimising the window. There *might* be something specific you need to
do before the problem begins (ie. resizing the window, refreshing, downloading a
file, etc...) However the bouncing occurred immediately after running and an
initial attempt to minimize for me.

You can remove the problem temporarily by:
1. Applying the Modern crome.
2. Restarting Mozilla.

If you change back to the Classic interface in any way it will start bouncing again.

Also, if you install an official Mozilla.org release or nightly over the top of
the one already there the problem will go away (ie. re-installing 0.9.7 over 0.9.7).

Note also that the themes not change automatically - without any need to restart.

Contact me if you have any specific question.

I hope this helps someone reproduce the bug.
I did what John Pettit did in comment #5. It fixed the problem for me on both
my Win2k machine and my WinME machine. I was installing the nightly build just
as John P. was doing. So I would assume is still an issue with the Classic
Theme. Thanks for the input John. Keep up the good work with this project.
See Comment #6
problem started between versions
2002010508 and 2002010608

see comments for bug #120155

Note: for me, I can confirm that the problem occurs with Classic theme, but not
Modern theme.
