It is confusing for users if AMO shows add-ons as being able to install even if they aren't because they are not signed and the version of Firefox does not provide a way to install those add-ons. (discussion: https://www.yammer.com/mozilla.com/#/Threads/show?threadId=583561153 ) Those pages can only be found if one has the direct URL as they will not show up on AMO. This will prevent most users of finding it. For the remaining users we should make the state of the add-on more obvious. Suggestion: detect which version of Firefox is used and modify button accordingly. For versions of Firefox that might be able to install un-reviewed add-ons (e.g. have xpinstall.signatures.required ) show a clear warning that these add-ons are not reviewed (should not be misunderstood as preliminary reviewed add-on) For versions of Firefox that can not install un-reviewed add-on deactivate the "Add to Firefox" Button.
